FREE Grants Training and Chapter Development Meeting in Minnesota
NGMA is holding a training and networking opportunity in Minnesota on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 8:30am – 11:15am. This FREE grants training is for members and non-members.
Come learn about NGMA, learn something new about grants, and network with other grant professionals in your area! All NGMA members and prospective members are encouraged to stay for a chapter development meeting.

Founded in 1999 by the City of Minneapolis, the FATHER (Fostering Actions To Help Earnings and Responsibility) Project became a program of Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota in 2004. The FATHER Project’s mission is to assist fathers in overcoming the barriers that prevent them from supporting their children economically and emotionally. Since then, the FATHER Project has served thousands of fathers through an extensive network of community partners. Services offered include case management, parenting support, child support services, father and family activities, employment services and GED tutoring. In this presentation, Andrew Freeberg, Director of Community Programs for Goodwill-Easter Seals, will share both the successes and challenges of this Project over its 13-year history in Minnesota.

Amy Jorgenson, Director of Internal Audit and Analytics at the Minnesota Department of Health, will share examples of grant fraud and misuse of funds and provide helpful tips that could improve your grant monitoring activities and prevent fraud. You will learn about and discuss examples from Minnesota, what is being done to make improvements, and understand what to watch for in your grant programs to help ensure your organization does not end up on the wrong end of an investigation.
Identify new requirements outlined in legislation impacting the field of grants management.
Apply best practices in grants management.
Analyze new concepts and strategies for improving organizational efficiencies in the field of grants management.
National Grants Management Association is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State Boards of Accountancy have the final authority on the acceptance of individual course for CPE credit.
