Basics of Grants Management

Judy Hoanshelt, Grants Management Division Director, Miami Beach

This is a basic overview of ‘how to’ for Grants Management. The goal of this presentation is to demonstrate how to write a compelling application by meeting the agency’s mission, and, once awarded how to manage the grant program. Finally, a brief overview of the closeout process will be included.

Indirect Costs and Cost Sharing: Interconnected Tools for the Grant Program Manager

Alan Tiano, CGMS, GPC and Glenn McCormick, JD, CGMS, Broward County Grants Administration

Indirect Costs and Cost Sharing are two of the most frequently misunderstood areas of the grant cycle. Understanding the application of these two areas can help you maximize the economic opportunities offered in your grant. Attendees will learn what the elements and rules involved in calculating Indirect Cost and Cost Sharing and how they interrelate on the Budget. Additionally, the practical application of how to apply unrecovered Indirect Cost to Cost Sharing will be discussed. A question and answer session will follow.
