No Hail Mary Needed – Risk Mitigation in Practice
Eric Russell, CIA, CGAP, CGMS, MPA, Senior Manager, Crowe Horwath
The Federal Government and prime recipients are exposed to risk through the provision of contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, and other federal awards to third parties. Certain efforts taken during the pre-award, award negotiation, and program execution phases of an award may help to mitigate risk exposure. During this session, we will discuss real world examples of errors encountered by pass-through entities and discuss best practices in risk mitigation both from the funding agency standpoint and the role of a prime recipient.
Attendees will receive 1 CPE in the field of Specialized Knowledge for attending this session.
