Join us for the Colorado/Wyoming Chapter meeting on Wednesday, September 20, 2017! We encourage all Colorado/Wyoming members and members in the surrounding area to JOIN US as we watch and discuss a grants webcast and network with other grant professionals in the area.
On January 25, 2017, President Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) that stated that the Policy of the United States will be to ensure that any state or locality designated by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and the Attorney General as a “Sanctuary Jurisdiction” will not be “eligible” to receive federal grant funds. Sanctuary jurisdictions, according to the EO, are those states or localities that “willfully violate Federal law in an attempt to shield aliens from removal from the United States.” This session will not only address what the EO actually say and what is its short and long-term legal implications for both Sanctuary Jurisdictions and its constituents.
Understand what is contained in the EO;
Learn what impact the EO has on sanctuary jurisdictions and constituents;
Hear what legal limitations and roadblocks exist at the federal level.
